The Spirit of Change #125"I won't go to church; it's full of hypocrites." This may be; but it's an excuse. Despite how some so called Christians act, we need to get to know Christ ourselves. We need to worry less about the other men and women. We need to confess our own sins and follow Jesus Christ. We need to set the pace and set good examples. Then too, we can't change people's hearts. That's the work of God's Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul gives a definite command to Christians, "Be filled with the Spirit." (Ephesians 5:18) He explains how being filled with the Spirit affects our lives. Being filled with the Spirit puts a song in our hearts and on our lips. Being filled with the Spirit causes husbands to love their wives like Christ loved the church. Being filled with the Spirit causes wives to love their husbands. Being filled with the Spirit makes children love and obey their parents. Being filled with the Spirit makes you put in an honest days labor at work and rejoice at the good of your employer. Being filled with the Spirit profoundly affects your life at its core. If we really see the need for change within our lives and within the lives of others, we will pray for the Holy Spirit to come and fill us and change us.
